Joining group camping adventures, a nine-day wildebeest migration tour will take place in Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, Lake Manyara, and Arusha national park. On the safari, you will have the opportunity to explore the most stunning locations in Tanzania, including famous Lake Manyara, which is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, the Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the Garden of Eden, the Serengeti National Park, the Tarangire National Park, and the chance to see the great wildebeest migration while crossing the Mara River.

 

Schedule

A staff member of World Wild Africa Safari will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and taken to the Hotel in Arusha for the night. There you will be provided with the safari tour briefing.

The morning begins with a breakfast at your accommodation before heading to Arusha National Park. The park is known for its diverse ecosystems and stunning scenery, including Mount Meru, the fifth highest mountain in Africa. The full-day safari drive takes you through the park, showcasing the rich diversity of flora and fauna. Wildlife sightings include blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, buffalo, warthogs, giraffes, and zebras.

The Momela Lakes, a series of seven shallow alkaline lakes, attract flamingos and waterfowl. A midday lunch is served, followed by an afternoon game drive exploring the park's diverse ecosystems. The park also features Mount Meru and the Ngurdoto Crater, a lush volcanic crater teeming with wildlife. The return journey offers another opportunity to appreciate the beautiful Tanzanian landscapes. The evening is spent at your hotel in Arusha, reflecting about the day.

The safari begins with an 8:00 AM pick-up from Arusha Hotel, followed by a scenic three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park covering 2,800 square kilometers. The driver-guide takes you through various terrains, including open savannahs and dense woodlands, to observe the park's diverse wildlife. The park is home to a large elephant population, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and antelope species. Attractions include baobab trees and tree-climbing pythons. Lunch is provided at a designated picnic spot. The afternoon game drive explores Tarangire's rich ecosystems, with over 500 species recorded. After dinner, you drive to Jambo Lodge, where you'll have a relaxing overnight stay.

The morning begins with a full breakfast at your accommodation, followed by a packed safari jeep journey to Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Crater, offering stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems. After lunch, you'll arrive at Serengeti National Park around 3:00 PM, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its vast plains and rich wildlife. Your experienced driver-guide will lead you through the central Serengeti, a prime area for wildlife viewing.

The landscape is bathed in golden light, providing a perfect backdrop for spotting animals like wildebeest, zebras, Grant's gazelle, Thomson's gazelle, eland, and impala. Predators, including lions and leopards, follow these herds, adding to the dramatic wildlife encounters. After the evening game drive, you'll head to Seronera Campsite for dinner and overnight stay. The campsite offers basic yet comfortable accommodations, allowing you to rest and recharge for another day of adventure.

The Serengeti safari offers a thrilling day of wildlife exploration, starting with a full breakfast at the campsite. The guide will then drive towards the northern Serengeti, where the Great Migration is observed. The Mara River and Ndutu Plains are key locations for this spectacle, with the Mara River witnessing dramatic river crossings of wildebeest and zebras facing crocodiles and strong currents. From July to October, the Kogatende area becomes a hotspot for river crossings, with the herds crossing back and forth to seek fresh grazing grounds.

The migration moves into the north-western Serengeti in late June and July, making it ideal for viewing the mass movement of animals. By August and September, the herds have generally reached the northern Serengeti, providing excellent opportunities to witness the Great Migration in full swing. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs also follow the herds, creating dramatic wildlife interactions. The safari concludes with a dinner and overnight stay at the campsite, allowing for rest and recharge for another day of exploration.

The Serengeti tour begins with a full breakfast at your accommodation, preparing you for a full day of exploration. Your experienced driver will guide you to key areas within the park to witness the Great Migration, which occurs from June to September. From July to September, you'll visit the northern Serengeti, where you'll witness dramatic river crossings at the Mara River. The tour includes millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving across the Serengeti for fresh grazing pastures and water. In the midday, you'll have a packed lunch at a scenic spot, reflecting on the morning's sightings. The afternoon game drive will continue, exploring diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. After dinner and overnight stay, you'll rest and recharge for the next day.

You will get up at 5.45 in the morning to have an early breakfast and watch the sun rise within the Serengeti. Once you have finished your breakfast, you will undertake an early morning safari drive that will last until 11.30 in the morning. After that, you will return to your campsite for a hot lunch and load your belongings into the vehicle. This time, after you have finished your delicious lunch, you will continue with a wildlife drive in the Serengeti while traveling to the Ngorongoro crater in Simba campground for supper and sleep.

You will awaken at approximately 5:30 a.m. to prepare for breakfast. Subsequently, you will descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro crater, where you will have the opportunity to observe all five of the Big Five, as well as a variety of bird species and a black rhino that is present within the crater. On this day, you will enjoy your brunch within the crater while admiring the natural beauty and the high concentration of flamingos. After a six to seven-hour game drive on the crater floor, you will begin to ascend from the crater, passing through the campsite to load all of your luggage into the Jeep. You will then drive back to Jambo Lodge for supper and an overnight stay. After the crater tour, you will embark on a walking tour of Mto Wa Mbu village. During this tour, you will have the opportunity to observe the daily lives of the local population, visit banana plantations, and sample local cuisine.

Following your breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive to Lake Manyara. Within the park, you will have the opportunity to observe scaling tree leopards and a large number of flamingos that are drawn to the algae in the lake. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to visit a hot spring. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to observe the Maasai way of life and learn about their culture and traditions during your excursion to Maasai boma. Subsequently, you will return to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
