Joining group camping adventures, a seven-day wildebeest migration tour will take place in Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro caldera, and Lake Manyara.On the safari, you will have the opportunity to explore the most stunning locations in Tanzania, including famous Lake Manyara, which is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, the Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the Garden of Eden, the Serengeti National Park, the Tarangire National Park, and the chance to see the great wildebeest migration while crossing the Mara River.
Schedule
A staff member of World Wild Africa Safari will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and taken to the Hotel in Arusha for the night. There you will be provided with the safari tour briefing.
You will be picked up from your Arusha hotel at 8:00 AM for a scenic three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, 115 km away. Arrive around 11:00 AM at the 2,800 square kilometer park, named after the Tarangire River. Begin your full-day game drive, exploring the park known for its large elephant population, tree-climbing pythons, and iconic baobab trees. Spot a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, and zebras. Enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic spot within the park. Continue your afternoon game drive, observing more wildlife and the park’s diverse ecosystems. Depart around 5:00 PM and arrive at Jambo Lodge by 6:00 PM for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, pack your luggage into the safari jeep and start an en-route game drive to the Serengeti, with lunch inside the jeep. On the way, enjoy views of the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater, reaching the Serengeti around 3 PM. Upon arrival, embark on an evening game drive in central Serengeti, witnessing a beautiful sunset. Afterward, have dinner and stay overnight at the Seronera campsite. The Serengeti is famous for its endless plains and the great wildebeest migration, involving 1.5 million herbivores and their predators. Your driver guide will ensure you see part of the migration, including wildebeests, zebras, Grant’s gazelles, Thomson’s gazelles, elands, and impalas. This natural spectacle moves across the Serengeti as animals seek fresh grazing and water.
Wake up early for a full breakfast before starting your game drive in the Serengeti. Your driver will take you to northern Serengeti, focusing on key areas like the Mara River and Ndutu Plains. River crossings at Kogatende start in July as the mega herd settles in, with peak game viewing from July to October when crossings are frequent. The herds move back and forth across the river, following the rains and fresh grasses. In late June and July, the migration moves into north-western Serengeti, making it an ideal time to visit this region. From August to September, the Great Migration is best seen in northern Serengeti. Witnessing these movements offers an incredible safari experience.
Wake up early for a full breakfast before starting your full-day safari drive in the Serengeti. Our driver will take you to key areas to follow the wildebeest migration. The Great Migration varies each year, but the best chance of seeing it is from June to September. During this period, you can witness the wildebeest crossing the Mara River in northern Serengeti. From January to March, you can observe the wildebeest calving. These animals travel year-round in search of fresh grazing and water sources. After your full-day game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Wake up at 5:45 AM for an early breakfast at your Serengeti campsite, witnessing the breathtaking sunrise. At 6:30 AM, embark on a morning game drive until 11:30 AM, spotting wildlife like lions, leopards, elephants, and giraffes. Return to the campsite for a hot lunch, relaxing and packing your belongings. After lunch, set off on an afternoon game drive, heading towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy the scenic drive, transitioning from the Serengeti plains to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Simba Campsite in the late afternoon, offering stunning views of the crater. Conclude your day with a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay at the campsite, ready for the next day's exploration.
Wake up at 5:30 AM for breakfast before descending to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, where you can see the Big Five and various bird species, including black rhinos. Enjoy lunch inside the crater, observing the abundant wildlife and high concentrations of flamingos. After a 6 to 7-hour game drive, ascend from the crater and pack your belongings at the campsite. Drive back to Jambo Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. After the crater tour, enjoy a walking tour in Mto wa Mbu village, experiencing local life and visiting banana plantations. You can also taste local food during this village tour. This day combines wildlife viewing with cultural immersion, offering a comprehensive Tanzanian experience.

The morning begins with a hearty breakfast at your accommodation before departing for Lake Manyara National Park. The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, stunning scenery, and abundant wildlife. The full-day safari drive takes you through the park, where you will encounter tree-climbing lions, flamingos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, and antelope species. The park also features geothermal hot springs, known as "Maji Moto," which are a reminder of the volcanic activity that has shaped the region.
In the afternoon, you will visit a Maasai boma, a traditional Maasai village, where you will experience the unique culture and traditions of the Maasai people. You will learn about their way of life, livestock herding practices, social structures, and ceremonies. You may also interact with the Maasai community and purchase handmade crafts as souvenirs. After the visit to the Maasai boma, you will drive back to Arusha, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
